DATATYPES IN VB.NET
DATATYPES IN VB.NET
VB.Net has many different types of datatypes as they are being used to define variables or functions in a programme. And there are a lot of conversion functions to be used in a programme to convert one datatype to another datatype.
What is a Data Type?
A Datatype refers to which type of data or value is assigning to a variable or function so that a variable can hold a defined datatype value. For example, when we declare a variable, we have to tell the compiler what type of data or value is allocated to different kinds of variables to hold different amounts of space in computer memory.
In This Tutorial:
Datatypes in VB.Net
When someone wants to be a programmer or to create a programme in VB.Net must understand the datatypes in VB.Net before starting to do the programme and also allocated spaces for each and every single datatype, if not, programming is not going to be easier as expected for anyone.
All the datatypes are being used to define a variable or a function in VB.Net. So, when someone decided to create a variable, or a function must be chosen the right datatype against allocated spaces and type of the inclusions (Values) then only programming will be easier to do so.
When tries to use a datatype to create a successful variable or function that there is a method call "Syntax" to be considered as follow:
Dim Variable/Function_Name as Datatype
Example: Dim Total as long
The following table explains the various datatypes and spaces list for all of them in VB.Net:
Different type of conversion functions in VB.Net:
Actually, the conversion functions are used to convert the data between different types at any time in the programme. And these functions are predefined functions to convert the data values into one to another datatype.
The following conversion functions are being used to convert the data values in VB.Net:
