WINDOWS 10 DESKTOP The desktop is the primary user interface of a Windows. When you boot up your computer, the desktop is displayed once the start-up process is complete. It includes the desktop background (or wallpaper) and icons of files and folders, you may have saved to the desktop. In Windows-10, the desktop includes a task bar, which is located at the bottom of the screen by default. And it’s including time bar in the right side of the task bar and start menu logo in the left side of the task bar with that some the permanently installed application also included in middle of the task bar. Start Menu Icon This icon is designed for start the start-menu to start all software applications on the windows platform, which is permanently and privately installed in the computer. Which applications can categorize in two type, such as Windows OS's applications (like Paint, Calculator) and private applications (like Ms Office, MS Visual Basic, Need for Speed and Google chrome etc.). Date and Time bar In Windows 10 OS, the time bar is on the taskbar that it is displaying current date and time sat up in the computer as well as it is editable by the user needs. Cortana Bar Microsoft described about Cortana Windows 10 OS such as Cortana is your digital agent. She'll help you get things done. The more you use Cortana, the more personalized your experience will be. To get started, type a question in the search box, or select the microphone and talk to Cortana. (Typing works for all types of PCs, but you need a mic to talk.) If you’re not sure what to say, Cortana normally gives suggestions for you on your lock screen, and in Cortana home when you select the search box on the taskbar. Here are some things Cortana can do for you: · Give you reminders based on time, places, or people. · Track packages, teams, interests, and flights. · Send emails and texts. · Manage your calendar and keep you up to date. · Create and manage lists. · Chit chat and play games. · Find facts, files, places, and info. · Open any app on your system. For example: Set a remind One of the things Cortana can do is to give you reminders. She can remind you to do things based on time, places, or even people. For example, type or say, "Remind me to congratulate Tanya the next time she calls." The reminder will appear when you get a call from Tanya. Extra bonus, if you have a Windows phone or Cortana for iPhone or Android, you can set Cortana to sync notifications between your PC and phone. Note: Cortana is only available in certain countries/regions, and some Cortana features might not be available everywhere. Tasks View Task View is a task switcher and virtual desktop system introduced in Windows 10 and is among the first features new to Windows 10. Task View allows a user to quickly locate an open window, quickly hide all windows and show the desktop, and to manage windows across multiple monitors or virtual desktops. MS Edge MS Edge is a web browser developed by Microsoft and included in Windows 10, Windows 10 Mobile and Xbox One, replacing Internet Explorer as the default web browser on all device classes. According to Microsoft, it is designed to be a lightweight web browser with a layout engine built around web standards. It has new features, including integration with Cortana, annotation tools, and a reading mode. Edge does not support ActiveX or Browser Helper Objects of Internet Explorer. Browser extension support was developed and added in preview builds in March 2016 and released with the Windows 10 Anniversary Update on August 2, 2016. Microsoft Edge extensions are distributed via Microsoft Store. File Explorer File Explorer provides a graphical user interface for accessing the file systems. It is also the component of the operating system that presents many user interface items on the monitor such as the taskbar and desktop. File Explorer, previously known as Windows Explorer, is a file manager application that is included with releases of the Microsoft Windows operating system from Windows 95 onwards. Store The Windows Store (after October 2017, Microsoft’s store) is a digital distribution platform for Microsoft Windows. It started as an app store for Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 as the primary means of distributing Universal Windows Platform (UWP) apps. With MS-Win 10, however, Microsoft merged its other distribution platforms (Windows Marketplace, Windows Phone Store, Xbox Video and Xbox Music) into Microsoft Store, making it a unified distribution point for apps, digital video, digital music and e-book. According to Microsoft, as of September 28, 2015, there were over 669,000 apps available on the store, which includes apps for Windows NT, Windows Phone, and UWP apps, which work on both platforms. Categories containing the largest number of apps are "Games", "Entertainment", "Books and Reference", and "Education". An Installed application However, the installed apps can view on the taskbar, it depends on the user wishes. If user doesn’t like to keep viewing an installed app on the taskbar, he/she can unpin by doing steps, right click on the apps and click unpin menu in the appeared popup menu. An Opened application An opened app means to, the app has installed in your computer and it is opened currently for using purposes. This icon once app has closed by user, the icon will be disappeared from the taskbar. WiFi icon On the taskbar, the WiFi icon is being used to emulate WiFi generic broadcast or antenna to discover the available signal around the device located place. Whenever, user doesn’t like to keep WiFi antenna turned on, can disable by click once on active WiFi icon on the taskbar.
