Position:
Word, as you know, allows you to insert pictures into your documents. When you insert a picture, it is basically placed where your insertion point is located. You have total control, however, over where your picture is positioned on a page.

Let's say, for instance, that you want your picture to appear exactly 3 inches from the top of the paper, and 2 inches from the left side of the paper.

In MS-Word, Position tool is using to choose where the selected object will appear on the page. And there are several layouts available in the position, so, you can pick one from them. For example, if you pick a layout, let’s say, “Middle-center with square text wrapping” then your object will be in between the paragraph of middle of the page and the text will automatically wrap around the object.

How to be positioned an object/picture in the middle-center of the page?
Select the inserted object/picture => Select Layout Menu => Click Position Tool => Click Middle-center with square text wrapping Tool.

For more understanding, look at the screenshot please:

Wrap Text:
When you insert an image, you may notice that it's difficult to move it exactly where you want. This is because by default the image is in line with the text. If you want to move the image freely, you'll usually need to choose a different text wrapping setting. The text wrapping for an image is set to In Line with Text. You'll need to change the text-wrapping setting if you want to move the image freely or if you want the text to wrap around the image in a more natural way.

In MS-Word, there are several texts wrapping available with different styles like “In Line with text, Square, Through, Top and Bottom, Behind Text, In Front of Text Edit Wrap Points”. Text wrap tool is using to choose how your text look like around the selected object. For example, you can choose to have the text continue around the object or cross right over it.

How to wrap the text around the object in a paragraph?
Select the object => Select Layout Menu => Click Wrap Text Tool => Click Tight.

Bring Forward & Send Backward:
In addition to aligning objects, MS-Word gives you the ability to arrange objects in a specific order. The ordering is important when two or more objects overlap because it will determine which objects are in the front or the back.

When objects are inserted into a document, they are placed on levels according to the order in which they were inserted into the document. In the image below, the table is on the top level, but we can change the level to put it behind the other objects.

When you have more than an object in a page, you can use these tools to arrange them like send backward or bring forward between the objects and it’s all depend on your needs.

Note: If you have several objects placed on top of each other in the document, it may be difficult to select an individual object. The Selection Pane allows you to easily drag an object to a new location. To access the Selection Pane, click Selection Pane on the Format tab.

How to bring forward the blue object from back of the other green object?
Select the blue object => Select Layout Menu => Click Bring Forward => Click Bring Forward.

Rotate:

When an object does not appear to be going in the right direction in MS Word, you can flip or rotate it to your preference. When you want to pivot the object to that it is at a different angle, you can change its rotation. If you want a mirror image of the object, you can flip it.

How to flip horizontally a selected object/picture?
Select object/picture => Select Layout Menu => Click Rotate Tool => Click Flip Horizontal.
